Vibhuban Sankashti Chaturthi 2026: Auspicious Timing for Worship and Rituals

New Delhi, June 3: The Vibhuban Sankashti Chaturthi festival, dedicated to the worship of Lord Ganesha, will be observed on June 4, 2026 (Thursday). This Chaturthi is particularly rare as it falls during the Krishna Paksha of the Purushottam month (leap month). Special prayers will be offered to Lord Ganesha in his Vibhuban form, which signifies his presence across the three realms: heaven, earth, and the netherworld.

This year, a unique alignment of auspicious timings is set to occur on Vibhuban Sankashti Chaturthi. The Abhijit Muhurat and Vijay Muhurat coincide, making it highly favorable for any auspicious activities. The Chaturthi Tithi will commence at 9:21 PM on June 3 and will last until 11:30 PM on June 4. According to the Uday Tithi (the date at sunrise), the significance of Chaturthi will be observed throughout the day on June 4.

On Thursday, sunrise will be at 5:23 AM and sunset at 7:16 PM. The moonrise will occur at 10:43 PM, with moonset following the next day (June 5) at 8:17 AM. The Nakshatra will be Uttarashada, lasting until 3:41 AM on June 5. The Shukla Yoga will be in effect until 9:03 AM, followed by Brahma Yoga. Additionally, the Karan will be Bava.

Regarding auspicious timings for rituals, several favorable periods will be available alongside the Abhijit and Vijay Muhurat. Brahma Muhurat will be from 4:02 AM to 4:43 AM, Abhijit Muhurat from 11:52 AM to 12:47 PM, and Vijay Muhurat from 2:38 PM to 3:34 PM. The Ghodhuli Muhurat will take place from 7:15 PM to 7:35 PM, and Amrit Kaal will be from 8:34 PM to 10:21 PM.

Conversely, the inauspicious Rahukal will occur from 2:04 PM to 3:48 PM, and Yamgand will be from 5:23 AM to 7:07 AM. Gulika Kaal will take place from 8:51 AM to 10:35 AM, while Durmuhurt will be from 10:01 AM to 10:56 AM. According to religious texts, it is advised not to initiate any new or auspicious work during these times.
