Lucerne, June 6: In the first round of the Swiss Challenge at Golf Semapach in Lucerne, Veer Ahluwalia emerged as the top Indian golfer, finishing in a tie for 28th place with a score of 2-under 69. Arjun Prasad followed closely behind, ending the day at 1-under 71, placing him in a tie for 41st.

Denmark’s Christopher Bring topped the field with an impressive bogey-free score of 7-under 64, leading by one shot over four players: Hayden Barron, George Blour, Tadeus Tetk, and Tobias Eden.
Ahluwalia, who split his time between the Hotel Planner Tour and the DP World Tour last year, began his round on the back nine. He was even par at the turn but faced challenges early on, recording bogeys on the 11th and 14th holes, along with a birdie on the 17th.
On the front nine, Ahluwalia found his rhythm, making four birdies across six holes, starting with a birdie on the second. His day concluded with five birdies and three bogeys.
Arjun Prasad also started on the back nine, gaining an early advantage with birdies on the 13th and 15th holes. However, he lost shots on the 16th and 18th, finishing the turn at even par. A birdie on the first hole of the front nine briefly brought him below par before he dropped a shot on the third hole.
Prasad managed another birdie on the sixth hole but recorded his final bogey on the seventh. He ended his round with a late birdie on the ninth, finishing at 1-under 70 and currently sits in a tie for 41st on the leaderboard.
For Talwar, the week started off poorly as he carded a 3-over 74, placing him in a tie for 110th. He began his round on the front nine, making only one birdie on the fourth hole, but lost shots with a bogey on the eighth, a double bogey on the 12th, and another bogey on the 18th.
Christopher Bring started strong on the front nine, making four birdies in his first seven holes. He maintained his momentum, finishing the last five holes with three additional birdies, concluding the day at 7-under 64. Four players are tied for second place at 6-under par.
