Jaipur, October 16 (Daily Kiran): Union Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw on Thursday said that the indigenous Vande Bharat train reflects India’s technological strength and self-reliance under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat mission. He was speaking at the “Prabuddhjan Sammelan” organized in the Civil Lines area under the coordination of MLA Gopal Sharma.

The minister also inaugurated the “Namo Bharat Exhibition”, which showcased local products and innovations symbolizing India’s progress toward self-reliance. The event was attended by MP Manju Sharma, BJP District President Amit Goyal, Padma Bhushan Devendra Jhajharia, and several other dignitaries.

Sharing a recent experience from the visit of Japan’s Rail Minister to India, Vaishnaw said, “When he traveled on the Vande Bharat train, the glass of water didn’t even shake — but the world did. That’s the true power of self-reliance.” He highlighted that 99% of smartphones used in India are now made domestically, a testament to India’s growing technological capacity.

The Rail Minister reaffirmed the government’s commitment to modernizing the Indian Railways through indigenous technology and enhancing passenger amenities while promoting innovation and local manufacturing.

“Make Jaipur Junction the Center of Vocal for Local”: MLA Gopal Sharma
MLA Gopal Sharma urged the Railways Minister to make Jaipur Junction a hub for the “Vocal for Local” campaign to promote local products, artisans, and Rajasthan’s rich cultural heritage among travelers. He also proposed the establishment of Railway Schools on the lines of Kendriya and Sainik schools to offer technical education opportunities to local youth.

Sharma further suggested the modernization of the All India Radio complex and called for stronger infrastructure support that prioritizes local development and small businesses.

Namo Bharat Exhibition Draws Attention
The exhibition displayed India’s advancements in railway modernization, indigenous production, and technological innovation. It highlighted the vision of a self-reliant India and drew enthusiastic participation from visitors.

Presence of Padma Awardees and Martyrs’ Families
The event saw participation from several Padma awardees, including Padma Bhushan Devendra Jhajharia, Padma Shri Ram Kishore Chhipa, Tilak Gitai, Munna Master, Gulabo Sapera, and Shakir Ali.

Families of martyrs, including Vijay Singh Dahiya (son of Param Vir Chakra awardee Brigadier Hoshiar Singh), O.P. Sharma (father of Shaheed Amit Bhardwaj), and Prem Devi Yadav (wife of Shaheed J.P. Yadav from the Parliament attack), were also honored at the event.

The gathering also included entrepreneurs, retired army officers, freedom fighters, sportspersons, educators, lawyers, doctors, and artists, reflecting a strong sense of community participation.

The event was also addressed by MP Manju Sharma, BJP District President Amit Goyal, and Devendra Jhajharia, while Vivekanand Sharma and Preeti Saxena conducted the proceedings.
