Uttar Pradeshs Deputy CM Urges Officials to Resolve Public Grievances Promptly

Lucknow, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : Uttar Pradesh’s Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has issued a firm directive to officials, stressing that the resolution of public complaints should go beyond mere paperwork. He emphasized that genuine relief must be provided to the complainants. Maurya warned that any negligence, insensitivity, or unnecessary delays in addressing public issues would be taken seriously by the government, which may hold officials accountable when necessary.

During a public hearing held at his camp office in Lucknow, Maurya listened to hundreds of citizens from various districts who brought forth grievances related to land and revenue disputes, illegal encroachments, housing, pensions, healthcare, electricity, roads, drinking water, police, education, and employment. He instructed relevant officials to investigate each case on-site and ensure timely and appropriate action.

Maurya urged officials to thoroughly investigate the actual status of every complaint, ensuring that complainants do not have to repeatedly visit government offices for resolution. He stated that the public hearing is not merely a platform for listening to grievances but a means to foster direct communication between the government and the public, ensuring administrative accountability.

He highlighted that good governance is meaningful only when the benefits of government schemes reach the most marginalized individuals. The government aims to ensure that eligible individuals receive their rights promptly, preventing unnecessary hardships for those in distress. During the public hearing, special attention was given to the issues faced by women, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and economically weaker sections.

Maurya instructed officials to take swift action with a humanitarian approach in such cases. He noted that transparent, sensitive, and accountable administration builds public trust in the government and its systems. He showed particular concern regarding complaints related to land disputes and illegal encroachments on both government and private properties. He directed district magistrates and police officials to form joint teams from the revenue and police departments to conduct necessary on-site investigations and take fair action based on the facts.

He insisted on strict measures against those who encroach on or intimidate the land of the poor and vulnerable. Maurya called for a comprehensive approach to problem-solving that goes beyond formalities, aiming for lasting resolutions.

“The trust of the public is the government’s greatest strength,” he affirmed. Maurya reiterated that it is the government’s duty to listen to every complainant, ensure that eligible individuals receive their rights, and provide justice to those in need. He instructed officials to work diligently and sensitively to extend the benefits of welfare schemes to deserving individuals, making it clear that there will be no compromise on promptness, transparency, and accountability in public service.
