Telangana Chief Minister Alleges Conspiracy to Remove One Million Voters Names

Telanganas CM accuses a conspiracy to remove one million voters names, targeting minority groups ahead of elections.

Hyderabad, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy has raised serious allegations regarding a plot to remove one million names from the voter list during a special intensive revision (SIR) process. Speaking at an event honoring the late communist leader Sarmapalli Malla Reddy, he claimed that the move is aimed at eliminating anti-BJP votes, particularly from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), and minority communities.

Reddy emphasized the need for non-BJP parties to unite against the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the national level. He stated, “Due to their failure to win elections democratically, they are adopting new strategies. BJP leaders are openly stating that they will replicate in Telangana what they did in West Bengal, systematically removing anti-BJP votes.”

The Chief Minister alleged that the BJP is conducting surveys through private agencies to systematically delete voters’ names. He further accused the party of using the Election Commission for its political agenda. Reddy criticized the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) for remaining silent on the SIR issue, urging leftist parties to recognize the underlying motives at play.

He highlighted the importance of protecting the fundamental rights of the poor and minorities, noting that communist parties have historically fought for these rights. Reddy appealed to leftist groups to work towards safeguarding the voting rights of these communities.

The Chief Minister recalled how communists fought for fair wages for landless laborers, leading to the implementation of the Minimum Wage Act by the Congress party. He pointed out that the Congress government allocated 24.56 lakh acres of land, with 10 lakh acres currently owned by tribal communities, as a response to the struggles of communists.

Reddy also praised Malla Reddy’s lifelong dedication to farmers’ interests, describing his passing as an irreplaceable loss for the farming community. He noted that Malla Reddy excelled in understanding farmers’ issues and effectively advocating for their rights, particularly for sharecroppers and fair crop prices.

In honor of Malla Reddy, Reddy assured that his government would address agricultural challenges while considering the late leader’s writings and ideas. He mentioned that the cabinet would discuss how to permanently commemorate Malla Reddy’s contributions.
