
Lucknow, March 6: The Uttar Pradesh government has taken a significant step towards enhancing road connectivity in the state. A high-level committee meeting, chaired by Chief Secretary S.P. Goyal, approved six proposals related to the relaxation of Passenger Car Unit (PCU) standards for road projects.
The Chief Secretary instructed officials to ensure that all approved projects are implemented within the stipulated timeframe and adhere to high-quality standards. He emphasized that the completion of these projects will improve traffic management in the respective areas and boost local economic activities.
Among the approved projects, a 30-meter-wide major plan road will be constructed at a cost of ₹24.91 crore in Bulandshahr district. This road will connect NH-334C (Ghaziabad-Bulandshahr GT Road) to a proposed 75-meter-wide NHAI link road, with a total length of 2.45 kilometers.
In Jaunpur district, a 2.435-kilometer access road will be built from kilometer 19 of the Trikoliya-Akhundnagar road to the CBG (Compressed Bio Gas) plant at a cost of ₹5.25 crore.
In Jalaun district, a new road approximately 7.4 kilometers long will be constructed from the industrial area of Kanshiram Colony near the railway line to Kashikheda at a cost of ₹40.89 crore.
Additionally, in Ghazipur district, a greenfield bypass road will be developed at a cost of ₹85.14 crore, stretching about 3.9 kilometers. In Chitrakoot district, a one-kilometer access road will be prepared to connect the new Saradhua police station to the main road at a cost of ₹4.5 crore.
Furthermore, a four-lane road will be constructed at a cost of ₹96.45 crore to ensure better access to the under-construction international cricket stadium in Gorakhpur, spanning 2.665 kilometers.
The government believes that the completion of these projects will strengthen the road network in the state and give a new impetus to industrial, sports, and local development.
