Authorities have warned the public about misleading images and claims related to the Line of Actual Control (LAC) between India and China that are being shared on various social media platforms.
Some posts allegedly show the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) near the border. Officials state that these images have not been verified and should not be considered authentic.
There is a request to remove such misleading content from social media platforms. This advisory has been issued in light of repeated attempts to spread misinformation regarding border issues.
Previously, viral posts falsely claimed that the Chinese army had intruded 60 kilometers into Indian territory. PIB’s fact-check report clarified that this claim was false and that the accompanying video had no connection to the India-China border.
