Four Confirmed Dead in Seamapuri Building Collapse; DNA Testing Ordered for Remains

Seamapuri, Delhi, October 8 (Daily Kiran) : A tragic building collapse in the Seamapuri area of East Delhi has resulted in the deaths of four individuals. The victims have been identified as 21-year-old Gulafsha, 56-year-old Haja Bibi, 33-year-old Noosra, and a child aged approximately 3 to 4 years, whose identity remains unknown.

According to Delhi police, during the rescue operations, several body parts and other human remains were recovered from the rubble. These remains have yet to be identified, and authorities will use DNA testing to confirm their identities.

An FIR has been filed at the Seamapuri police station under relevant legal provisions as of October 8, and the police are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collapse.

Officials confirmed that the rescue operation at the site has concluded. However, forensic examinations of the remains and other investigative measures are still ongoing.

The incident occurred on Wednesday when a five-story building suddenly collapsed. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajendra Prasad Meena stated that seven people have been rescued so far.

Earlier, Ajay Kumar, the District Magistrate of North East Delhi, informed reporters that initial reports indicated the building fell between 3:00 and 3:15 PM. The first call reporting the incident was received at 3:25 PM, which included location details and video footage.

Kumar, who is also in charge of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), said that the information was promptly relayed to DDMA and NDRF officials, who were dispatched to the scene.
