Union Home Minister Amit Shah Inaugurates ‘Brahmaputra Wing’ of Raj Bhavan and Several Other Projects in Assam

Guwahati, 29 August (Kiran News). Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the newly constructed ‘Brahmaputra Wing’ of Assam Raj Bhavan in Guwahati on Friday, amidst the chanting of Vedic mantras. Built at a cost of ₹41 crore, this building is set in the picturesque surroundings of the Brahmaputra river and is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities.

The new complex includes the Governor’s office, Additional Commissioner’s office, conference room, waiting lounge, library, Governor’s suite, and a Presidential suite. The inauguration ceremony was attended by Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya, former Assam Governor and current Punjab Governor Gulab Chand Kataria, former Governors Banwarilal Purohit and Prof. Jagdish Mukhi, Assam Cabinet Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass, Chief Secretary Ravi Kota, and several senior officials.

Before the inauguration, Amit Shah performed cow worship (gau pooja) and planted a sapling in the Raj Bhavan premises. He was joined by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, senior minister Ranjeet Dass, and other leaders.

The Home Minister also inaugurated several other projects under the Ministry of Home Affairs, including the National Cyber Forensic Laboratory at Lachit Barphukan Police Academy in Dergaon, a modern residential project with health facilities for SSB families in Guwahati, a barrack for 360 jawans, mess and a 10-bed hospital for the 33rd Battalion of ITBP in Sonapur, a new IG headquarters for Assam Rifles, and new residential and administrative projects for units in Silchar and Jorhat.

After the program, Amit Shah proceeded to Khanapara Field to address the NDA Panchayat Representatives’ Conference, where he will speak to representatives from across the state.
