Lucknow, April 3: Akhilesh Yadav, the national president of the Samajwadi Party, has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of weakening constitutional institutions and fostering an environment of corruption and looting in the state.
He stated that the current government operates on a ‘manvadhan’ and is damaging democratic values.
While addressing a meeting of youth organizations at the party headquarters, Yadav emphasized the significant responsibility of the youth wing of the Samajwadi Party to strengthen the organization at the booth level in preparation for the 2027 assembly elections.
He urged officials and workers from the student assembly, youth organization, Lohia Brigade, and Mulayam Singh Youth Brigade to actively engage in the field. Targeting the BJP, he claimed that the party operates like a ‘merchant’ and is focused on selling government assets. He alleged that the policies of profiteering have led to rising inflation and corruption, while educated youth are struggling to find employment.
Yadav noted that despite grand claims of investment, no tangible results are visible on the ground. He expressed concern over the law and order situation in the state, citing incidents of daylight murders. He also raised questions about the education and health systems, accusing the government of completely ruining these sectors. Primary education is deteriorating, and health services are in disarray.
The Samajwadi Party president announced that the birth anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar will be celebrated on April 14 at the village and sector levels, highlighting the threats facing the Constitution.
He stressed the importance of unity among the backward, Dalit, and minority communities, asserting that this social coalition will defeat the BJP in 2027. He promised that a Samajwadi government would establish social justice and ensure rights and respect for all communities.
Yadav appealed to party workers to engage with the public in a positive and progressive manner, stating that the negative politics of the BJP will be countered with organizational strength. He also claimed that initiatives started during the Samajwadi government, such as ambulance services, Dial 100, metro projects, and the Gomti River Front, were symbols of development that have been harmed by the current administration.
