The Ministry of External Affairs has provided detailed insights into the discussions and agreements reached between the two nations.
According to the Ministry, both countries have finalized collaboration in the fields of rare earth elements and essential minerals. This agreement will promote technology transfer, exploration, research, and development. It is expected to attract investments, support India’s development goals, and leverage Brazil’s expertise in processing and recycling technologies.
Cooperation in the postal sector will increase, facilitating greater interaction between official delegates and experts. This will also promote transactions in e-commerce, financial services, and best practices.
The partnership will advance Indian MSME products and crafts, contributing to India’s development journey through collaboration in MSME entrepreneurship and crafts.
A joint declaration/action plan for future digital partnerships will expedite the implementation of the India Stack framework. This will strengthen collaboration in the digital public infrastructure sector, enhancing cooperation in high-performance computing, quantum technology, and blockchain.
There will be collaboration between INPI and CSIR on the Traditional Knowledge Digital Library (TKDL). Brazil will gain access to TKDL, and progress has been made towards recognizing Indian AYUSH and homeopathic pharmacopoeias.
Additionally, cooperation between the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization and the Brazilian Health Regulatory Agency will strengthen the framework for information exchange and regulatory collaboration. This will promote the recognition of the Indian pharmacopoeia in Brazil.
The Indian Institute of Mass Communication will collaborate with the Federal University of Minas Gerais, leading to increased exchange of students and faculty members, along with mutual access to college and laboratory facilities.
Collaboration between the Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute and São Paulo University will promote joint projects in film and media, fostering student and faculty exchange programs.
Brazil has extended the business visa for Indian passport holders to ten years, easing the process for Indians conducting business in Brazil. This move will strengthen commercial and economic ties.
Collaboration in the mining sector will help secure mineral resources for the steel supply chain, furthering India’s development journey.
