Washington, March 24: U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio engaged in discussions with his counterparts from India, Canada, and Kenya. The talks focused on issues related to Iran, the situation in the Middle East, and security matters, as confirmed by his spokesperson.
Rubio conversed with India’s External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand, and Kenya’s President William Ruto. During these discussions, the U.S. is actively enhancing communication with its allied nations regarding Iran and regional stability.
In the dialogue with India, the changing dynamics of the Middle East were a key topic. U.S. State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott noted that both leaders reflected on the current conditions in the region and agreed to continue collaborating to advance mutual priorities.
These talks come at a time of heightened tensions in West Asia. Both India and the U.S. have indicated a commitment to work together on shared strategic interests.
In the conversation with Canada’s Foreign Minister Anita Anand, particular attention was given to U.S. actions concerning Iran and its nuclear program. The two leaders discussed international security and the measures taken by President Trump to curb Iran’s nuclear ambitions.
The issue of Haiti was also raised during these discussions. Rubio mentioned that the U.S. is striving to restore peace and stability there, which includes support for the ‘Gang Suppression Force’ established with United Nations approval.
In a separate conversation with President William Ruto of Kenya, Rubio praised Kenya’s stance on Iran and its role in regional security. He thanked Ruto for condemning Iran’s aggression against Gulf nations and discussed the objectives of “Operation Epic Fury.”
Rubio also acknowledged Kenya’s contributions to maintaining peace in Haiti and highlighted its significant support for the ‘Gang Suppression Force.’ Economic relations were another topic of discussion between the two leaders.
These conversations clearly indicate that the U.S. is working to strengthen coordination with its key partner nations on issues related to Iran and global security. India, Canada, and Kenya are vital allies for the U.S. in Asia, North America, and Africa, respectively, playing crucial roles in diplomacy, security cooperation, and peacebuilding.
