Malda, March 29: The Malda division has initiated regular ticket checking campaigns to ensure compliance with railway regulations, enhance passenger safety, and protect revenue. Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Manish Kumar Gupta, a special intensive ticket checking campaign was conducted on Saturday in the Bhagalpur-Sultanganj-Jamalpur-Abhaypur section.
This campaign took place at the Bhagalpur, Nathnagar, Sultanganj, and Jamalpur stations. It also included extensive checks on trains such as the Vikramshila Express, Malda Town-Kiul Intercity Express, Jamalpur-Sahibganj Passenger, Bhagalpur-Danapur Intercity Express, Sahibganj-Danapur Intercity Express, Brahmaputra Mail, and the Banka-Rajendra Nagar Terminal Express, among others operating in this section.
The campaign was led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Karthik Singh, with active participation from ticket checking staff, commercial inspectors, and Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel. This coordinated effort aimed to ensure strict compliance with ticket regulations.
During the campaign, a total of 320 cases of irregular travel were detected, resulting in a fine collection of ₹124,410. This not only safeguards railway revenue but also enforces strict adherence to ticketing rules.
Passengers were encouraged to use digital platforms for ticket purchases, with recommendations to download the Railvan app for both reserved and unreserved ticketing. This initiative promotes a simpler, paperless, and transparent travel experience.
The Malda division’s commitment to controlling ticketless travel, protecting railway revenue, and promoting responsible travel behavior is evident in this initiative. Passengers are urged to travel with valid and appropriate tickets to avoid inconvenience and penalties.
