Two Notorious Criminals Arrested in Separate Encounters in Bahraich

Bahraich, June 28: In a significant operation, police in Bahraich, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested two criminals following separate encounters. One of the apprehended individuals is a notorious criminal with a bounty of ₹50,000 on his head. Both suspects are currently receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the encounters.

According to officials, the arrests occurred in two different police jurisdictions. Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava reported that the first encounter took place in the Akhilapur area of the Ramgaon police station. Here, the criminal Firoz was injured, while his accomplice, Mulkraj, managed to escape.

The police had set up a blockade near the Akhilapur intersection based on a tip-off. During this operation, two suspicious individuals on a motorcycle were signaled to stop. However, the suspects allegedly opened fire on the police team. In response, the police fired back, injuring Firoz in his left leg, causing him to collapse on the spot. Mulkraj fled the scene.

A search of the injured criminal revealed a locally made firearm and two live cartridges. According to the police, Firoz is a history-sheeter from the Bondi police station, with numerous theft cases registered against him across various police stations in the district. He was also wanted in several other cases, with a bounty of ₹50,000 placed on him.

Following this, the police conducted a second encounter near Ruknapur in the Kaisarganj police area, where they successfully apprehended the fleeing Mulkraj. Illegal weapons and cartridges were also recovered from him.

SP Vishwajeet Srivastava noted that Mulkraj is a resident of the Baghouli area and has over three dozen cases registered against him. He too had a bounty of ₹50,000. Authorities confirmed that further actions are underway.
