Two More Arrested in the Murder Case of Himanshu Singh in Jamshedpur, Total Arrests Reach 16

Jamshedpur, July 15: In a high-profile murder case involving Himanshu Singh, a young leader of the Karni Sena, police have arrested two additional suspects. This brings the total number of arrests in the case to 16. Authorities have also recovered a scooter used to help the main suspects escape after the incident, based on the information provided by the arrested individuals. The police state that the investigation is nearly complete, and a charge sheet will soon be submitted to the court.

City SP Lalit Kumar Meena announced on Wednesday that the arrested individuals have been identified as Raghavendra Kumar, also known as Ravindra Kumar or Ghere (40), and Ganesh Machhuwa (34). During questioning, police recovered a TVS Activa scooter linked to the crime, which was reportedly used to transport the main suspects to safety after the attack.

On the night of June 27, Himanshu Singh was attacked with sharp weapons outside the Double Down (DD) bar in the Bistupur police station area. He succumbed to his injuries during treatment. Following the incident, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to probe the case. The SIT has conducted multiple raids based on CCTV footage, technical evidence, and confidential information.

Investigations revealed that Ganesh Machhuwa played a crucial role in hiding and aiding the main accused—Vishwanath Mandal, also known as Bodra, Rahul Dubey, and Raghavendra Kumar—after the attack. Vishwanath Mandal, a key suspect with a bounty of 200,000 rupees on his head, surrendered to the Jamshedpur court a few days ago. Police have previously arrested several other suspects, including Neeraj Singh, the owner of the Double Down bar.

During the investigation, sharp weapons such as swords, axes, and knives were also recovered. The City SP noted that Ganesh Machhuwa has a criminal history and has previously served time for involvement in illegal liquor cases. Authorities assert that all 16 suspects connected to this murder case are now in custody. The investigation is in its final stages, and a charge sheet is expected to be filed in court soon.
