New Delhi, August 25: In a significant operation against drug trafficking, police in Greater Noida have arrested two foreign nationals, including a woman. The Surajpur police station and the intelligence unit conducted a joint operation based on confidential information and manual intelligence.
Authorities seized approximately 1.07 kilograms of white powder, suspected to be drugs, from the suspects. The estimated value of the recovered substance is around 2 million rupees. Additionally, police confiscated four mobile phones, two electronic scales, a black bag, and four plastic bags used for packaging.
The operation took place on August 25, 2026, at a house located in front of a stadium in the Bhuda village area of Surajpur. Police received tips about suspicious activities involving foreign nationals at the location. Acting on this information, the joint team raided the premises, leading to the detention of the two suspects and the discovery of the white powder.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Sabi Joel, a 32-year-old male from Yaoundé, Cameroon, and Amada Latifa, a 33-year-old female from Delta State, Nigeria. Police have classified the white powder as drugs, with further analysis pending to confirm its exact nature and the substances involved.
During the operation, both suspects were questioned regarding their passports but failed to present them. The intelligence unit is notifying the relevant embassies about the situation. Authorities are also investigating the purpose of the suspects’ stay in India, along with the validity of their visas and other documents.
Charges have been filed against the suspects under various sections of the Foreigners Act at the Surajpur police station. Based on the recovery, police are now working to gather information about other individuals connected to this network. The investigation team is examining the suspects’ mobile phones and other items.
There are concerns that the seized electronic scales and packaging materials were used for weighing and preparing drugs for distribution. Investigators are attempting to determine the suspects’ contacts and the source of the drug supply. Police have stated that further inquiries are ongoing. The recovered substances will be sent for testing, and efforts are being made to uncover the entire network behind this drug operation.
