Two Criminals Injured in Police Encounter in Badaun

Badaun, May 28: A fierce encounter occurred between police and criminals near an abandoned brick kiln in the Islamnagar area of Badaun district, Uttar Pradesh. Two criminals were injured by gunfire, and one police officer was also wounded in the incident. Police apprehended three criminals at the scene, while two others managed to escape into the darkness.

A police team was conducting a routine checking operation in the Islamnagar area when they noticed suspicious activity late Wednesday night near the abandoned brick kiln. The police signaled the suspects to stop, but the criminals opened fire on the police team without warning. In the exchange of gunfire, two criminals, identified as Nadeem alias Shakeeb and Aas Mohammad, were injured and subsequently arrested by the police.

During the chaos, another criminal named Saddoo attempted to flee but was surrounded and captured. Police officer Amit Kumar was also injured in the encounter and was immediately rushed to the hospital for treatment.

Badaun’s Superintendent of Police (Rural) Hridesh Katheria confirmed that three criminals had been arrested, while two accomplices successfully escaped. A combing operation is underway to locate them. The arrested individuals are residents of the Pyas Mohalla in the Sirauli area of Bareilly district. Authorities recovered two illegal firearms, cartridges, stolen cash, and gold and silver jewelry from the criminals. The injured criminals are currently hospitalized under police protection.

Initial investigations reveal that the arrested gang has been involved in several thefts and robberies in the surrounding areas in recent days. Police are interrogating the suspects to uncover details about other crimes. The identities of the two escaped criminals have been established, and claims have been made regarding their imminent capture.
