Tuhin Sinha Blames TMC for Misgovernance in West Bengal

Mumbai, March 29: Tuhin Sinha, the national spokesperson for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of misgovernance, holding the state government responsible for the plight of the people in West Bengal.

This statement came after Union Home Minister Amit Shah released a 35-page white paper criticizing the TMC’s 15 years of rule in West Bengal. Sinha referred to the BJP’s white paper as an “indictment.”

He noted that such indictments are typically issued against criminals. However, he emphasized that the people of West Bengal must hold the TMC accountable for the events that have transpired over the past 15 years.

The BJP’s document claims that nearly 2 million state government employees are dissatisfied due to the lack of a dearness allowance and the non-implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission in West Bengal.

Discussing this issue, Sinha stated that millions of employees have been receiving inadequate salaries for years due to the non-implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission. He pointed out that a significant number of young people are migrating out of West Bengal.

Sinha also raised concerns about alleged illegal immigration in election-bound West Bengal, stating that the absence of fencing along the border has led to regular infiltration. This has resulted in the creation of fake voter identity cards, which have now been curtailed due to the implementation of a Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the voter list.

The BJP’s white paper claims that 569 kilometers of the 2,216.7-kilometer-long international border with Bangladesh remain unfenced. It alleges that delays in land acquisition for barbed wire fencing by the state government have facilitated this infiltration.

Tuhin Sinha further stated that the BJP’s “indictment” (white paper) serves as a warning to the public about how Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is leading the state into darkness.

He concluded by asserting, “I believe West Bengal is just five weeks away from making history, and it is clear that the TMC will lose the upcoming assembly elections.”
