Mumbai, June 16: The political landscape in Maharashtra is buzzing with discussions about ‘Operation Tiger.’ Reports suggest that some MPs from the Uddhav Thackeray faction of Shiv Sena may join Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s camp. In a significant statement, Maharashtra Minister Pratap Sarnaik emphasized that ‘Operation Tiger’ operates 365 days a year, 24 hours a day.
During a media interaction, Minister Sarnaik stated that if any Shiv Sainik wishes to work under Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s leadership, their doors are always open. He reiterated, “Operation Tiger runs 365 days a year, 24 hours a day. Any Shiv Sainik, corporator, municipal council president, or party worker who believes in Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology and trusts Eknath Shinde’s leadership is always welcome.”
Shiv Sena MLA Prakash Surve remarked that their leader has made it clear that no one is in contact with them. He added, “If someone is trying to forcefully send people to us, that’s not our fault.”
Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske expressed that everyone is dissatisfied with Uddhav Thackeray. This sentiment has been established and proven. He criticized Thackeray for abandoning the Hindutva ideology and aligning with Congress. Mhaske also noted that Sanjay Raut has suggested that Sharad Pawar’s party should merge with Congress, effectively ending its existence.
Elections for district councils, panchayat committees, municipal corporations, and councils have already taken place in Maharashtra. Mhaske questioned whether Aditya Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray had left their homes and Mumbai to campaign in these elections. “If a commander sits at home giving orders, soldiers will not stay with him. If workers are coming to us, we welcome them,” he stated.
Shiv Sena MLA Deepak Kesarkar commented that he cannot say much at this time. However, he believes that if this happens, it will be a very positive development. It would strengthen Shiv Sena, bolster Balasaheb’s ideology, stabilize the coalition government in Maharashtra, and enhance the NDA across the country.
On the other hand, the opposition has raised questions regarding ‘Operation Tiger.’ Senior Samajwadi Party leader Abu Azmi criticized the current leaders, stating that they have become so weak, helpless, and greedy that they abandon their ideologies for other parties due to greed and fear. He called for a condemnation of such leaders.
Regarding ‘Operation Tiger,’ Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Bhau Saheb Wakchoure stated that nothing has happened so far. “I am still here. This is just talk. This discussion has been ongoing for a year; I don’t know why. Today I am here, but what about tomorrow? I don’t even know if I will be alive,” he remarked.
