Trump Predicts Gas Prices Will Drop After Iran Conflict Resolution

Washington, June 8: President Donald Trump has stated that gas prices in the United States will significantly decrease once the ongoing conflict with Iran comes to an end. He emphasized that the temporary rise in fuel and agricultural costs is a necessary price to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons.

In an interview on NBC’s “Meet the Press,” Trump acknowledged the impact of rising energy prices on American farmers. However, he asserted that this economic pressure will not last long and that his administration’s actions are justified.

When asked about the increasing fuel and fertilizer costs faced by farmers, he remarked, “As soon as this issue is resolved, gas prices will drop rapidly.”

This statement comes amid growing political pressure on the White House regarding the economic effects of the conflict with Iran. Trump noted that the conflict has now reached its 100th day since the initial military action by the United States.

Responding to concerns about farmers’ economic struggles, Trump said that rural America still trusts him. “I love farmers, and farmers love me. They trust me,” he stated.

He referenced the support provided to farmers during his first term, mentioning, “I gave them $28 billion.”

The President outlined two choices he faced: either keep energy prices low or take action against the threats posed by Iran’s nuclear program. He explained, “I could have kept prices down, but I thought I needed to take a different route. Farmers will understand this best. Gas prices may rise slightly, and fertilizer costs will also increase, but I won’t allow nuclear weapons to fall into the hands of very dangerous people.”

Trump reiterated that gas prices would decrease either upon reaching an agreement with Iran or after the completion of the U.S. military campaign. When asked if gas prices had peaked, he responded, “Prices will come down significantly. They will be lower than before.”

He added, “It depends on how far the war goes. We may need to take further action, or we might reach an agreement. If an agreement is made, prices will drop soon; otherwise, they will decrease after the campaign ends.”

Throughout the interview, Trump defended his approach to managing the Iran conflict and dismissed claims that it undermined his promise to avoid prolonged military interventions abroad. He asserted that U.S. military actions have significantly weakened Iran’s capabilities and that the conflict will not last long.

“We will not be there for an extended period,” he stated.

He also mentioned that the recent U.S. employment report was better than expected, indicating that the American economy remains strong despite the ongoing conflict. Trump described the employment figures as “very strong” and claimed the country is experiencing record economic performance.
