Israel Strikes Back After Irans Missile Barrage, Targets Military Bases in Western and Central Iran

Jerusalem, June 8: Following a barrage of missiles from Iran, Israel has initiated a counter-response. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the Israeli Air Force conducted airstrikes on military installations in western and central Iran.

The IDF announced on the social media platform X, stating, “A short while ago, the Israeli Air Force attacked military sites belonging to the Iranian regime in western and central Iran.”

Israel claimed that its fighter jets targeted military bases located within Iran. The strikes occurred early Monday morning in these regions.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), at least two loud explosions were heard in Tehran. The Tehran Fire Department reported that residents in western Tehran heard the blasts around 4:43 AM and 4:45 AM. However, no explosions were confirmed in any urban areas of the city.

IRNA further noted that the Israeli military claimed to have targeted several military bases and centers associated with the Islamic Republic of Iran in western and central Iran.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) of Iran stated that Israel utilized air-launched ballistic missiles in its latest attacks.

The Israeli military had previously informed that it was fully prepared for any potential missile attacks and further actions. IDF spokesperson Efi Defrin remarked on Sunday that Iran made a “grave mistake” by launching missiles.

Last night, Iran fired missiles towards Israel four times, prompting the Israeli counter-strike. Smoke was reported rising near Najafabad following the Israeli attacks.

According to Al-Mayadeen, an Israeli military spokesperson indicated that the air force targeted military bases in western and central Iran based on military intelligence.
