Truck Collides with Devotees Tractor in Etah, Leaving Seven Injured

Etah, August 2: A serious road accident occurred in Etah district, Uttar Pradesh, during the ongoing Kanwar Yatra. A speeding truck collided with a tractor-trailer filled with devotees on the highway in the Kotwali Dehat area. As a result, seven Kanwariyas were injured, with one in critical condition. The seriously injured devotee has been referred to Saifai for advanced treatment.

According to reports, all the devotees hail from Kishanpur village in the Kurawali police jurisdiction of Mainpuri district. They were traveling by tractor-trailer to the Soron Ganga Ghat to collect holy water for rituals at local Shiva temples. The tractor was carrying approximately 17 Kanwariyas. Due to rain, the vehicle was moving slowly when the truck, coming from behind at high speed, crashed into it, causing the tractor to overturn and creating chaos at the scene.

Local residents promptly initiated rescue efforts and transported the injured to the district hospital with the help of 108 ambulances. The injured have been identified as Ragini, Nisha, Geetam, Satypal, Raghveer, Sandhya, and Muskaan. Due to the severity of his injuries, Satypal was referred to Saifai Medical College, while the other six are receiving treatment at the district medical college.
