
New Delhi, August 3: Today marks the 140th birth anniversary of ‘Rashtrakavi’ and ‘Padma Bhushan’ Maithilisharan Gupt, born on August 3, 1886, in Jhansi, Uttar Pradesh. On this occasion, several Chief Ministers, including Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, paid their respects.
CM Yogi shared a heartfelt message on the social media platform ‘X’, stating, “The teachings of the Gita resonate in our battles, inspiring victory in life’s struggles. On the birth anniversary of ‘Rashtrakavi’ and ‘Padma Bhushan’ Maithilisharan Gupt, who enriched Hindi literature with themes of patriotism, Indian culture, and human emotions, I pay my humble tribute. His words will continue to inspire generations to walk the path of truth, sacrifice, and dignity.”
Uttarakhand’s Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami also took to social media, saying, “On the birth anniversary of Rashtrakavi Maithilisharan Gupt, who awakened a sense of patriotism in every heart through his powerful writing, I bow in reverence. His timeless works will always inspire service to the nation.”
Haryana’s Chief Minister Nayab Saini wrote on ‘X’, “On the birth anniversary of the pride of Hindi literature, Padma Bhushan awardee Rashtrakavi Maithilisharan Gupt, I offer my deepest respects. His literature, which immortalizes the soul of Indian culture and the sentiments of the masses, remains relevant and inspiring today. His timeless creations will continue to convey messages of national service, duty, and self-respect.”
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav posted, “I respectfully pay homage to Rashtrakavi Maithilisharan Gupt on his birth anniversary. He provided a powerful expression of Hindi through poetry and conveyed ideals of patriotism, social consciousness, and Indian culture to the masses.”
Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma expressed on ‘X’, “On the birth anniversary of the vibrant voice of national consciousness, Rashtrakavi Maithilisharan Gupt, I bow in reverence. His timeless works, rich in Indian culture, patriotism, and human values, are invaluable treasures of Hindi literature.
