Tributes Paid to Former Delhi CM Sahib Singh Verma on His Death Anniversary

New Delhi, June 30: On the death anniversary of former Delhi Chief Minister Sahib Singh Verma, tribute events were held across the national capital. Senior leaders, MPs, and ministers from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) gathered to honor his contributions to Delhi’s development.

Sahib Singh Verma’s son and Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma, along with Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa and several BJP MPs, participated in various ceremonies.

BJP MP Manoj Tiwari spoke to reporters, stating that the untimely demise of Sahib Singh Verma was a significant loss for both Delhi and the nation. He emphasized that Verma, during his tenure as Chief Minister, provided a new direction for Delhi’s development and fostered an atmosphere of confidence among the residents.

Tiwari noted that people still remember him as a leader who prioritized development. This is evident as large crowds gather at his memorial each year to pay their respects, reflecting the public’s admiration and love for him.

Additionally, BJP MP Ramvir Singh Bidhuri paid his respects, highlighting Verma’s long service as Chief Minister and Union Minister. He implemented several crucial schemes aimed at the development of farmers and rural areas.

Bidhuri also proposed that the ‘All India Institute of Ayurveda’ in Sarita Vihar be named after Sahib Singh Verma to permanently honor his contributions, ensuring that future generations remember his work.

Delhi government minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa praised Sahib Singh Verma as a great son of Delhi, stating that he always served the capital as a dedicated public servant. Under his leadership, basic amenities in rural areas expanded rapidly, with significant contributions to the construction and development of hospitals, schools, colleges, and community centers.

Sirsa also mentioned that Sahib Singh Verma played a vital role in laying the groundwork for major development projects, including the Delhi Metro, showcasing his visionary thinking.
