Tragic Road Accident in Ghaziabad Claims Three Lives

Ghaziabad, July 29: A devastating road accident occurred late Tuesday night around 12:30 AM in the Niwadi area of Ghaziabad Police Commissionerate. A Bolero pickup truck, en route to Haridwar for a pilgrimage and bathing, collided violently with a truck. Tragically, three individuals lost their lives at the scene, while several others sustained injuries.

Upon receiving the news, the Niwadi police promptly arrived at the accident site and initiated rescue operations. The injured were transported to a nearby hospital for immediate medical attention. Preliminary investigations revealed that the Bolero pickup was recently purchased, and all passengers were traveling to Haridwar for worship and a holy dip in the Ganges when the accident occurred.

ACP Verma stated, “We received information around 12:30 AM that a pickup truck had collided with a larger truck. Three people have died, and several others are injured. The police reached the scene immediately, transported the injured to the hospital, and are proceeding with legal actions. The truck has been seized, and its driver and conductor have been taken into custody. Necessary legal procedures are underway.”

Earlier, on July 21, a truck loaded with steel rods lost control near Chapparola in Greater Noida and fell into a roadside drain. The accident was so severe that the heavy steel rods pierced through the cabin, trapping the driver, who later succumbed to his injuries.

Upon receiving the report, the Badalpur police quickly arrived at the scene and commenced rescue operations. Using a hydra, crane, and gas cutter, they worked for nearly two hours to extricate the driver. He was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead upon arrival. The driver was identified as Amir, 28, from Jehra village in Bulandshahr.
