New Delhi, September 17 (Daily Kiran) : Iran’s Foreign Minister, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, has highlighted the significance of the four peace principles articulated by Chinese President Xi Jinping. During his recent visit to China, Araghchi described his discussions with Chinese counterparts as successful and pivotal for the region.
In a post on X, formerly known as Twitter, Araghchi stated, “We had successful talks with our partners in China. Iran values the strategic partnership we have developed over time. The decisions made today will shape the future strategic balance in the region and have far-reaching implications. President Xi’s four principles for peace are very important.”
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi, a member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), met with Araghchi. According to the Iranian news agency Mehr, Wang expressed China’s readiness to strengthen dialogue and cooperation with Iran, as well as to defend Iran’s legitimate rights and interests.
During their meeting, Wang also urged the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz. Reports indicate that he emphasized the need for Iran and the United States to engage in substantive discussions on mutual concerns. Wang called on all parties to take effective steps to reopen the Strait of Hormuz as soon as possible, stressing that China does not wish to see regional tensions escalate, particularly in Yemen and the Red Sea.
Tensions in the region remain a critical concern, and these discussions reflect ongoing efforts to stabilize relations and ensure peace.
