Tragic Discovery: Seven-Year-Old Found Dead in Jharkhands Gumla District

Mumbai, June 16: A tragic incident unfolded in Gumla district, Jharkhand, where the body of a seven-year-old boy was discovered in a forest near Kasir Jamtohli village on Tuesday. Police have classified the case as murder based on multiple injuries found on the body. The victim has been identified as Naveen Kumar Singh, the son of Hemant Kumar Singh from the same village.

According to family members, Naveen was playing with other children near his home on Monday while his parents worked in the fields. When they returned home in the evening, Naveen was missing. His family and local villagers began searching for him, but they could not find any trace until late at night. The discovery of his body in the nearby forest on Tuesday sent shockwaves through the community.

Upon receiving the report, police arrived at the scene, seized the body, and sent it to the sadar hospital for an autopsy. Initial investigations revealed several severe injuries on the child’s body, including deep wounds on his head, neck, waist, and arms. Authorities believe the body was discarded in the forest to conceal the identity or destroy evidence after the murder. The family has filed a written complaint at the Raidi police station. Police have registered a case under sections 103(1) and 238 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), assigned case number 24/2026.

Police officials stated that they are investigating every aspect of the case. They are questioning local residents to uncover the motives behind the child’s murder and are also collecting technical evidence. Authorities have assured that they will solve the case quickly and apprehend the culprits. The incident has created an atmosphere of grief and anger in Kasir Jamtohli and surrounding villages, with residents demanding the swift arrest of those responsible and strict action against them.
