
Dhanbad, March 8: A tragic road accident occurred in the Govindpur police station area of Dhanbad, Jharkhand, on Saturday. A swift car collided violently with an auto-rickshaw near the Gahara bend, resulting in the immediate deaths of a 10-year-old girl and a 35-year-old woman. Two to three others sustained serious injuries. The injured are currently receiving treatment at the Shahid Nirmal Mahto Medical College and Hospital (SNMMCH) in Dhanbad.
According to relatives of the deceased, the accident happened when the speeding swift car and the auto-rickshaw collided head-on. The impact was so severe that Vandana, a resident of Murghabani, and Phoolmati Devi were pronounced dead at the scene.
Upon receiving reports of the incident, police from the Govindpur station arrived promptly and transported all injured individuals to SNMMCH for medical care. The bodies of the deceased have been taken into custody for post-mortem examinations, and authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
The area experienced a brief period of chaos following the incident. Meanwhile, police are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the causes of the crash.
In a separate incident on the same day in Jamshedpur, a fire broke out near the CGPC office in the Sakchi police station area, destroying five motorcycles. The cause of the fire remains unclear, but locals speculate that someone may have discarded a cigarette in nearby bushes, igniting the flames that engulfed the motorcycles.
