New Delhi, August 22: A tragic incident occurred on Saturday at the Golf Homes Society in the Bisrakh police station area of Greater Noida. During construction work, two laborers fell from the 14th floor and sustained severe injuries. They were rushed to the hospital, but unfortunately, both were declared dead upon arrival.
Upon receiving the news, the Bisrakh police arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation. According to police reports, the accident happened on August 22, 2026, while the workers were engaged in construction activities. The two laborers fell unexpectedly from the 14th floor, resulting in critical injuries. Bystanders quickly arranged for their transportation to the hospital; however, their condition was too grave for the doctors to save them. The police have detained the contractor associated with the construction work.
The deceased have been identified as Abdul Khalik Sarkar and Jamal Sheikh, both hailing from the Cooch Behar district in West Bengal. According to police, Sarkar was approximately 19 years old and resided in Kalamaty, Sahibganj, Cooch Behar. Jamal Sheikh was reported to be around 45 years old. Both were involved in construction work at the time of the accident. Following the incident, the Bisrakh police inspected the site and took the contractor into custody.
The police have registered a case and are taking necessary legal actions. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances surrounding the accident and whether adequate safety measures were in place at the construction site. Currently, the Bisrakh police have taken possession of both bodies and have begun the required procedures.
Authorities are questioning individuals connected to the case and examining all aspects of the incident.
