Greater Noida, August 23: A private bus carrying company employees overturned on the Eastern Peripheral Highway in the Dadri police jurisdiction of Greater Noida on Saturday. The incident caused chaos on the highway, disrupting traffic for a while. Approximately 28 to 30 employees were aboard the bus, with 14 reported injuries.
Upon receiving news of the accident, the Dadri police quickly arrived at the scene to initiate rescue operations. According to police reports, the bus was traveling from Kasna towards Dadri when the driver suddenly swerved to avoid a vehicle ahead. This abrupt maneuver caused the bus to lose balance and flip over in the middle of the road, resulting in panic among the passengers.
Emergency responders, aided by local residents, worked to free the trapped and injured passengers from the overturned bus. All injured individuals were subsequently transported to JIMS Hospital for medical treatment.
Fortunately, police confirmed that there were no fatalities in the accident, and no significant loss of life has been reported. The injured are currently receiving care at the hospital. Authorities have also ensured security at the accident site to prevent further incidents during the rescue efforts. Traffic on the Eastern Peripheral Highway was temporarily affected, leading to a backlog of vehicles.
The police managed to control the traffic flow at the scene. A hydraulic machine was employed to remove the damaged bus from the road. Once the bus was cleared, normal traffic operations resumed. Initial investigations suggest that the driver lost control while trying to avoid the vehicle in front, leading to the bus overturning. Authorities are continuing to investigate other details related to the incident.
