New Delhi, August 22: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with the newly appointed national officials of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) during an introductory meeting held at the party headquarters in New Delhi on Saturday. The meeting was chaired by BJP National President Nitin Naveen, where Modi engaged in heartfelt discussions with the new officials.
Following the meeting, Prime Minister Modi took to the social media platform ‘X’ to share insights. He highlighted that organizational meetings focus on new ideas and perspectives aimed at strengthening the party and deepening its connection with the public. He expressed that the discussions with party colleagues and the new organizational team were very productive.
BJP MP Sambit Patra provided details, stating that this was the first official meeting following the announcement of Nitin Naveen’s team. He mentioned that the first resolution passed in the meeting honored the pride of India, ‘Vande Mataram,’ in light of its historical significance. This year marks the 150th anniversary of ‘Vande Mataram,’ which has seen significant decisions made in recent months.
Patra emphasized that there is a growing respect and emotional connection to ‘Vande Mataram’ across every corner of India. He noted that the essence of ‘Vande Mataram’ embodies patriotism and national pride.
During the meeting, the BJP condemned the Congress Working Committee’s recent decision to limit the singing of ‘Vande Mataram’ to only the first two verses, reiterating a proposal from 1937. The BJP views ‘Vande Mataram’ as a national song, a tribute to Mother India, a mantra of the freedom struggle, and an immortal symbol of India’s national consciousness.
