Mumbai, April 28: Tensions escalated in Bhatarpara, West Bengal, following clashes between BJP and TMC workers. BJP leader Dilip Ghosh accused the TMC of fostering a climate of violence in the region.
Speaking to reporters, Ghosh stated, “Gunfire and bomb explosions can be heard almost daily there, but the situation will change on election day, and people will vote peacefully.”
The political atmosphere intensified further with reports of an alleged attack on TMC MP Mitali Bag. Ghosh questioned the motives behind the attack, suggesting it might have been staged to gain sympathy. He asserted that if the BJP intended to launch attacks, they could have done so in various locations, but their sole aim is to ensure peaceful voting. He urged voters to step out and exercise their rights to bring about change in the state.
Debate surrounding the Bhawanipur seat has also intensified. Ghosh targeted Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, claiming this is her last chance as the public is yearning for change. He accused the TMC of attempting to win elections through intimidation and violence, but asserted that this strategy would fail as people are ready for transformation.
He remarked that the TMC has realized their government is on the verge of collapse in West Bengal, and a BJP government is imminent. This realization has left TMC leaders and workers visibly distressed. The outcome will become clear after the results are announced on May 4.
In a related development, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw accused the TMC government of obstructing development projects. He cited the Kolkata Metro project, which has faced delays in the Chingrighata area due to the state government’s refusal to grant permission.
Vaishnaw noted that legal action has been taken in this matter, resulting in court orders favoring the metro construction. He claimed that once the BJP government is in place after the upcoming elections, these development projects will be expedited.
