TMC Leaders Face Legal Scrutiny Over Wealth Accumulation: Dilip Ghosh

Kolkata, June 24: Minister Dilip Ghosh has raised serious concerns regarding the wealth of several leaders from the Trinamool Congress (TMC). This follows the discovery of approximately 3.5 kilograms of gold at the residence of former TMC mayor Sabyasachi Dutta.

Ghosh stated, “Many TMC leaders possess excessive wealth. They own money, flats, land, and even large tracts of forest land, some of which were allegedly acquired through coercion. Significant amounts of gold, valuables, and cash remain in their homes, which they could not transfer elsewhere, and now these assets are coming to light. The law will reach them, and everyone will face legal scrutiny. TMC leaders have looted extensively during their governance, leading to a debt of ₹8.50 lakh crore on the people of West Bengal. This is why development has stalled in the state.”

Commenting on the ongoing turmoil within the TMC, Ghosh remarked, “This is an internal matter of the TMC. The Election Commission will consider who the leaders are, their roles, which faction or party they belong to, and their names. Discussions are also taking place in the assembly, and the Speaker will investigate this. The public has no stake in these issues. In fact, people believe that the sooner this party ends, the better.”

Regarding the suspensions of TMC leaders by Mamata Banerjee, Ghosh added, “It is essential to first understand who holds what position in the party. The dynamics of who is being removed or appointed within the TMC are irrelevant. Members of the TMC, including Mamata Banerjee and Abhishek Banerjee, have been removed from their positions; now, who will Didi remove next?”
