TMC in Turmoil Amid Election Fears: Dilip Ghoshs Accusations

Khargpur, April 3: In the lead-up to the West Bengal assembly elections, BJP leader Dilip Ghosh has made serious allegations against the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC). He claims that the TMC is panicking over the prospect of defeat and is resorting to violence in various parts of the state.

Ghosh accused the TMC of surrounding election commission officials in several locations and displaying black flags, indicating a deteriorating law-and-order situation.

The BJP leader also stated that attempts were made to disrupt his campaign in Khargpur. He reported that on Thursday, his vehicle was damaged, and there was an attempt to encircle him. Ghosh alleged that the TMC is trying to secure victory through intimidation, fear, and thuggery.

He emphasized that the state’s administration is now entirely under the control of the election commission. Ghosh warned Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee not to assume that everything will go her way, asserting that all actions will now be conducted according to the election commission’s directives.

Dilip Ghosh is a prominent leader in West Bengal and is considered a senior figure within the BJP. He served as the BJP’s West Bengal state president from 2015 to 2021 and has previously been a Member of Parliament from the Medinipur constituency. Currently, he is contesting the elections from the Khargpur Sadar seat.

The West Bengal assembly elections are being held in two phases. Voting for the first phase will take place on April 23 for 152 seats, while the second phase will occur on April 29 for 142 seats. The results will be announced on May 4.
