BJP Aims for Historic Victory in Tribal Council Elections: Tripura CM

Agartala, April 4: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha announced on Friday that the upcoming elections for the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) will be historic. He expressed confidence that the increasing support from the tribal community will lead the BJP to win all 28 seats by a significant margin.

While addressing an election rally in the Kathalia-Mirza-Rajapur constituency of Sipahijala district, CM Saha emphasized that the TTAADC elections are not just a regular election but a day to make history. He highlighted the overwhelming support the BJP is receiving in tribal areas.

During the rally, the Chief Minister welcomed over 500 supporters from the Tipra Motha Party (TMP) into the BJP, including Amia Dayal Noatia, the TMP candidate from the Dhampur assembly constituency for the 2023 elections. This event was marked as a significant political development ahead of the elections.

Later, the Chief Minister stated that such events clearly indicate that the BJP is on the path to making history in the TTAADC elections. He pointed out that the CPI(M) and regional parties have ruled for years without delivering results for the people. Now, the BJP has fielded candidates for all 28 seats. He urged all voters to cast their ballots early to ensure the BJP’s victory.

Senior BJP leader Manik Saha mentioned that since coming to power, the government has ensured that eight tribal intellectuals received the Padma Shri award for the first time. He added that the government has increased social pensions for community heads and secured proper respect for tribal communities. Additionally, the government has decided to appoint designated officers at the district and sub-divisional levels to oversee schemes specifically created for tribal welfare.

CM Saha also announced that they are establishing 21 Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) in tribal areas and have requested necessary exemptions for their swift implementation. Various projects are underway to ensure the development and progress of tribal communities. This election presents a chance to make history, and he is confident that the people understand this and will wholeheartedly support the BJP.
