Mumbai, May 22: Renowned Tamil film director Pandiraj is making waves with his upcoming film, ‘Parimala and Company.’ This film promises a blend of comedy, thrill, and family drama. In a recent conversation, Pandiraj revealed that the film’s inception stemmed from a personal challenge.
Pandiraj shared, “During the lockdown, my assistant director Ashwin suggested I watch a web series on an OTT platform. He believed I would enjoy the story and find inspiration for something new. After watching it, a fresh idea sparked in my mind, and I told my assistant that I would write a similar story within a week.”
He continued, “That’s when my assistant challenged me, saying if it was so easy, I should prove it by writing it down. I accepted the challenge and began crafting the story. Gradually, I transformed a simple idea into a complete script, adding several new scenes along the way.”
Pandiraj added, “To make the narrative more engaging, I incorporated elements of dark comedy. This process was thrilling, and the story evolved into something unique. Once the script was complete, I set it aside for a while. During this time, director Jagan and his assistant Divya read the script. They loved the story and decided to turn it into a film.”
‘Parimala and Company’ marks Pandiraj’s twelfth film and is described as a thriller-comedy. The story begins in Chennai and extends to cities like Coimbatore and Palakkad.
The film stars Jayaram and Urvashi in lead roles, with Santosh Shobhan and Sanchana Krishnamurthy playing significant parts. To add a comedic twist, the popular actor Yogi Babu has also been given an important role. Additionally, director Mishkin will portray a police officer in the film.
