Chennai, May 22: When renowned composer Ilaiyaraaja is associated with a film, audience expectations soar. This is the excitement surrounding director Karthik Subbaraj’s upcoming project. A unique aspect of this film is that its background music (BGM) album will be released separately before the film’s official launch.
Karthik Subbaraj shared insights about the film and its music in a detailed post on social media. He expressed, “This is my tenth film. The story is very close to my heart. I wanted to work on this narrative after ‘Mahan,’ but every story has its own timing. Some tales decide when and how they should be revealed to the world. Now, this film has come together at the right time and with the right people.”
The director praised his team, stating, “Producers Guneet Monga and Achin Jain understood my vision from our very first meeting. This film has become not just my dream, but a dream for the entire team.”
He also thanked Jio Studios and Sikhya Entertainment, acknowledging their significant contributions to making this project special.
Karthik expressed his joy about Ilaiyaraaja composing the music for the film. “I grew up listening to Ilaiyaraaja’s music. Every feeling in my life is connected to one of his songs. Whether it’s joy, sorrow, love, anger, inspiration, or emotions, every sentiment is tied to my musical memories. Ilaiyaraaja is a way of life for me.”
He added, “I have always dreamed of working with Ilaiyaraaja, but I never had the courage before. When the first cut of the film was ready, I felt that this story would surely appeal to him. After watching the film, he immediately agreed to collaborate.”
Karthik shared, “Ilaiyaraaja watched the film on Saturday evening and mentioned starting work on the music the very next day. The following 25 days were an extraordinary experience for me. Watching a great artist create music in front of me felt like a dream come true.”
He revealed that Ilaiyaraaja suggested releasing the background score as a separate album alongside the film’s songs, allowing audiences to experience the music’s essence beforehand.
