Texas Longhorns Extend Offer to 2027 Offensive Line Prospect Jackson Cook

Austin, March 17: The Texas Longhorns football team is focusing on enhancing its 2027 recruiting class, particularly the offensive line. Recently, they extended an offer to Jackson Cook, a standout from Austin Westlake High School. The promising offensive lineman has gained significant attention, catching the eye of head coach Steve Sarkisian and his team.

Despite being a strong candidate, the Longhorns face stiff competition. Cook has also received offers from several schools, including Duke, SMU, Arkansas, Arizona, Baylor, Boston College, Houston, Texas Tech, and UCLA. Although he has not yet set a commitment date, he has planned visits to Duke, SMU, and Arkansas, as reported by 247Sports.

Currently, Cook is ranked as the 64th-best offensive lineman in his class by 247Sports and is the 127th best player from Texas. With considerable potential for growth, he could become a valuable asset in the right program.

If Cook chooses to commit to the Longhorns, he would join one of the top recruiting classes in the nation. This class features two four-star recruits: wide receiver Easton Royal and edge rusher Cameron Hall, along with three-star recruits JT Geraci, Cade Haug, Karnell James, and Ty Hutson. The roster is expected to expand further as more players evaluate their options in the coming months.

While the Longhorns have already secured some key players, strengthening the offensive line remains crucial. Highly regarded quarterback Dia Bell is anticipated to lead the offense, and effective protection will be essential for a successful campaign. This will be particularly important as the team aims for a national title in a competitive conference.

The next step for Sarkisian and his staff is to bring Cook to campus for a visit, allowing them to showcase why Austin is the ideal place for his college career.
