Hyderabad, August 12: Telangana’s Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu has accused K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), of misleading the public with false allegations regarding land allocation.
Babu stated that the previous BRS government allocated land at a rate of ₹90 lakh per acre, while the current government has increased the rate to ₹1.50 crore per acre. He emphasized that the land allocation was conducted strictly according to established rules and procedures, with five acres allocated for ₹7.5 crore. He challenged KTR to clarify the source of his claim that the land near Future City was valued at ₹200 crore.
This response came after KTR alleged that the government had allocated five acres of land worth approximately ₹200 crore to Tesseract Advanced Systems Private Limited, which he claimed has ties to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s brother, Kondal Reddy.
Speaking to the media after a face-to-face event at the Congress headquarters, Gandhi Bhavan, Babu urged KTR to inform Telangana farmers about the price they received for rice grown at former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s (KCR) farmhouse.
He asserted that the Hyderabad Industrial Lands Transformation Policy would benefit the people of Hyderabad and advised KTR to avoid creating a climate of fear among industrialists. Babu stressed that obstructing Telangana’s development is not in the state’s interest and urged KTR not to project his political grievances onto the public.
He accused BRS leaders of engaging in “Goebbels-style propaganda,” noting that the public has already rejected such tactics in previous Lok Sabha and local elections. Babu also claimed that the BRS government had severely harmed Telangana’s interests in water distribution and assured that the Congress government would not compromise on the state’s water rights.
He mentioned that the state government would participate in the upcoming meeting of the Godavari River Management Board (GRMB) to strongly advocate for Telangana’s interests and its rightful share of water.
Regarding the face-to-face initiative, Babu explained that it was launched by state Congress president Mahesh Kumar Goud to maintain continuous dialogue with the public and address their concerns. He added, “A minister will participate in this program every week. Today, I am taking part. This is an ongoing initiative aimed at engaging with the public and ensuring the resolution of pending issues.”
