Beijing, August 12: The first print edition of the Chinese journal ‘Vita’ in the field of life sciences was released on Wednesday.
The term ‘Vita’ is derived from Latin, meaning ‘life.’ The ‘Vita’ series includes the main journal titled ‘Vita’ along with several sub-journals. It has been collaboratively established by universities and institutions associated with the “Open Alliance for Life Sciences.”
Notably, the “Open Alliance for Life Sciences” was founded in 2025 in Hong Kong, initiated by 15 high-level universities and research institutions from China’s interior regions, Hong Kong, and Macau. Currently, the alliance comprises 39 universities and organizations from these areas. It aims to create an open platform for high-quality scientific journals and international scientific data.
Academically, ‘Vita’ has been benchmarked against three top international journals and their sub-journals, with the goal of establishing it as a premier journal series in life sciences in China.
