Beijing, August 12: On August 11, the permanent Chinese representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, addressed an emergency open meeting of the Security Council regarding the Palestine-Israel issue. He urged the international community to make every possible effort to halt the ongoing conflict and violence.
During his speech, Fu Cong highlighted the rapidly deteriorating situation in the West Bank and Gaza Strip. He noted that the suffering of the Palestinian people continues to escalate. This is primarily due to the failure to adhere to the fundamental principles of international law, which have long disregarded the rights of Palestinians to live and develop. The international community must come together to rectify all erroneous statements that deny and violate Palestine’s legal rights.
Fu Cong emphasized that the “two-state solution” is regarded as the only viable path to resolving the Palestine issue within the international community. Any hesitation, doubt, or ambiguity is unacceptable. Gaza and the West Bank are integral parts of Palestine. Israel must end its illegal occupation of Palestinian territories as soon as possible.
