
New Delhi, August 5: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met with the US Ambassador to India, Sergio Gore, in New Delhi. The meeting lasted over 30 minutes and covered several important topics.
On social media platform X, CM Revanth Reddy shared a photo from the meeting, noting that Telugu is one of the fastest-growing languages in the US. Ambassador Gore assured him of full cooperation at all levels to strengthen relations between both parties. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude for the Ambassador’s friendship towards the people of Telangana.
During the meeting, CM Reddy emphasized the need to enhance cooperation between Telangana and the US in education, employment, investment, technology, and research. He raised concerns about increasing the number of visas for Telangana students pursuing higher education in the US and ensuring timely visa appointments.
The Chief Minister also requested an increase in visa interview slots and a faster processing of visa applications. Additionally, he addressed the challenges faced by Telangana professionals working in the US, highlighting the need to simplify and expedite the H-1B visa processing, renewal, and stamping procedures. He suggested providing advance notice of changes in visa regulations.
Issues related to the safety and welfare of Telangana students studying in the US were also discussed. The Chief Minister stated that student safety is a priority for the state government and emphasized the need for better coordination in this area.
CM Reddy informed the US Ambassador that the state is ready for partnerships in fields such as information technology (IT), artificial intelligence (AI), life sciences, pharmaceuticals, startups, research, and advanced technology.
He noted that Telugu is among the fastest-growing Indian languages in the US and appreciated Ambassador Gore’s understanding of Indian history and culture. He also praised the Ambassador’s interest in Telangana’s culture, traditions, cuisine, and unique characteristics.
Meanwhile, Ambassador Sergio Gore assured full cooperation to strengthen trade, investment, cultural exchange, and people-to-people ties between Telangana and the US. He expressed commitment to giving new dimensions to the partnership between both sides.
