Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy Envisions State as Global Gateway

Hyderabad, June 2: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated on Tuesday that his dream is to establish the state as a gateway not only for the country but for the entire world. This vision is detailed in the ‘Telangana Rising – 2047’ roadmap.

Addressing the Telangana Formation Day celebrations at Parade Ground, he emphasized the government’s commitment to making Telangana a one trillion-dollar economy by 2034 and a three trillion-dollar economy by 2047.

He noted that no single master plan encompassing the entire state exists elsewhere in the country. The ‘Telangana Rising – 2047’ vision document categorizes the state into three segments: Cure, Pure, and Rare.

“We are adopting a three-tier strategy for development. The area within the Outer Ring Road surrounding Greater Hyderabad has been designated as the ‘Cure’ zone, which we aim to transform into a world-class service hub,” he said.

The Chief Minister mentioned the introduction of the HILT policy to facilitate the relocation of polluting industries beyond the Outer Ring Road. Additionally, the government is actively promoting the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) by providing exemptions on lifetime taxes, registration fees, and road taxes.

The government is also constructing a Regional Ring Road similar to the Outer Ring Road. The area between these two ring roads is planned to be developed into a vibrant center for infrastructure and manufacturing. “We are developing ‘India Future City’ over 30,000 acres—a greenfield smart city. The region’s connectivity will be enhanced by developing Shamshabad as a bullet train hub,” he added.

He further stated that RARE will be the core of Telangana’s DNA, encompassing agriculture and agriculture-based industries. This area will stretch from the Regional Ring Road to the state border, focusing on irrigation, agricultural industries, research, crop diversification, and related initiatives through established industries and research centers.

The state government is prioritizing both development and welfare, claiming that Telangana is the only state implementing numerous welfare schemes, setting an example nationally.

Revanth Reddy remarked, “For the past two and a half years, we have worked diligently to fulfill the aspirations of farmers, youth, and women, while ensuring social justice and overall development for economically weaker sections, including Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and minorities.”

Since taking office on December 7, 2023, the “people’s government” has been tirelessly working with an indomitable spirit. Our ultimate goal is the welfare of Telangana’s citizens and the state’s development, with poverty eradication as our top priority.

He highlighted that the policy document ‘Telangana Rising – 2047′ prioritizes agriculture, aiming to position Telangana as a leader in the agricultural sector, develop agriculture-based industries, and bring transformative changes to farmers’ lives.

According to estimates for 2025-26, Telangana has achieved a record food grain production of 2.3687 million tons. The incentives provided by the government have led to remarkable results in rice, maize, and cotton production. Additionally, there has been significant growth in livestock and fisheries.

He urged farmers to diversify crop production to make Telangana a state with varied and abundant crops.

The Chief Minister noted that the state government has spent ₹1,56,496 crores on agriculture and farmer welfare over the past two and a half years. The government is directly purchasing crops from farmers, ensuring they receive the minimum support price (MSP) to prevent exploitation by middlemen.

“We are purchasing every grain of farmers’ produce despite financial burdens. Since taking office in December 2023, the government has spent ₹82,840 crores on procurement. During this Rabi season, we are actively purchasing rice through 8,575 procurement centers across the state. So far, we have procured 6.365 million metric tons of rice and deposited ₹11,903 crores directly into farmers’ accounts. We have also purchased nearly 10,000 metric tons of wet rice to protect farmers from losses due to unseasonal rains,” he explained.

He concluded, “Today, no other state in the country can compete with Telangana in rice procurement. I take pride in stating that during the Yasangi (Rabi) season, Telangana accounted for 60 percent of the total rice procured nationwide.”
