Delhis Chief Minister Discusses Smart Infrastructure Partnership with German Delegation

New Delhi, June 2: Delhi’s Chief Minister Rekha Gupta held a meeting at the Delhi Secretariat with Mario Vogt, the Minister-President of Germany’s Thuringia state, along with his high-level delegation. The discussion focused on enhancing cooperation in key areas such as urban development, technology, good governance, and skill development.

During the meeting, both parties explored collaboration opportunities in the development of smart cities, sustainable infrastructure, digital administration, and innovation-driven public services. They also addressed topics such as transportation systems, water management, environmental technologies, education, and skill development programs. These initiatives aim to strengthen the exchange of talented individuals between India and Germany.

The Chief Minister noted that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the relationship between India and Germany has been continuously strengthening. She emphasized that Delhi is committed to bolstering this growing partnership through various initiatives related to innovation, sustainable development, and human resource development.

Sharing insights from the meeting on the social media platform X, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta mentioned the meaningful discussions held with Mario Vogt and his delegation. The meeting highlighted opportunities for cooperation in smart urban development, sustainable infrastructure, digital governance, innovation, skill development, talent exchange, transportation systems, water management, environmental technologies, and education and workforce development.

Rekha Gupta stated that the partnership between India and Germany is consistently strengthening and expanding across multiple sectors. She expressed pride in contributing to this shared journey of innovation, sustainable development, and human resource development.

The delegation and Delhi government officials also discussed areas where Germany’s experience in urban planning, clean energy, and municipal administration could assist in meeting Delhi’s developmental needs.

Officials noted that this dialogue is part of broader efforts to promote international cooperation and partnerships at the state level.

This meeting comes at a time when collaboration between Indian states and other countries is increasing to address issues such as climate change, smart city development, and improving digital services.
