Tejashwi Yadav Questions Bihar Governments Investment Claims

Patna, August 14: Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in Bihar, has launched a sharp attack on the state government regarding its claims of proposed industrial investments.

In response to the recent announcement of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) worth approximately ₹51,600 crores signed between the industry department and various industrial groups, Yadav questioned why the government has not released progress reports on investment agreements exceeding ₹2 lakh crores signed in 2024, 2025, and earlier.

In a post on the social media platform X, Yadav asked about the status of these earlier MoUs and demanded transparency from the government regarding their current situation.

He also raised concerns about the credibility of a company that the state government has presented as the largest investor in the nuclear sector, proposing an investment of ₹22,500 crores. Yadav alleged that this company was established on February 25, 2026, and has a total capital of only ₹11 lakh.

Using data to challenge the government’s investment claims, Yadav questioned how a company with such limited capital could be expected to invest thousands of crores in the nuclear sector.

He demanded clarification from the state government, led by Samrat Chaudhary, on how this proposal was presented without addressing concerns about the company’s financial capacity.

Yadav accused the government of potentially granting land, subsidies, and other incentives to companies lacking sufficient financial resources. He questioned whether Bihar’s resources could be handed over to such entities in the name of attracting investment.

He stated that his party welcomes genuine industrial investments and that established companies setting up industries in Bihar should receive all possible support from the government. However, he warned against the creation of fake companies aimed at acquiring government land, assets, or subsidies.

Criticizing the NDA government’s long tenure in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav claimed that the government has failed to create an investment-friendly environment capable of attracting major industries. He accused the government of relying on publicity rather than addressing the ground realities affecting infrastructure and investor confidence.

These allegations have added a political dimension to new efforts aimed at attracting significant private investment in Bihar, with the opposition demanding greater transparency regarding the implementation of declared projects and their financial credibility.
