Patna, April 24: In a special session of the Bihar Assembly, Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary faced sharp criticism from opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav. During his address, Yadav highlighted that it was evident during the elections that BJP members would not allow Nitish Kumar to remain Chief Minister for long, and today’s situation confirms that.
Yadav described Bihar as a unique state where five governments have been formed in five years. He questioned why such instability occurs. Thanking Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Yadav stated, “You have fulfilled your commitment. An elected CM has been removed by a selected CM.”
He sarcastically advised Chaudhary to keep his turban secure, as former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha has his eyes on it. Yadav pointed out that the current top three leaders in the government, including Chaudhary, hail from the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), while Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Chaudhary comes from Congress, and Deputy Chief Minister Bijendra Prasad Yadav from the Janata Dal.
Yadav remarked that no original BJP member holds a significant position. He claimed that true BJP supporters are suffering and dissatisfied. He also made a quip regarding Chaudhary’s age, questioning which affidavit should be considered valid.
Throughout the session, members of the ruling party interrupted frequently. Yadav assured the government of RJD’s support for development, recalling that when Lalu Yadav was Chief Minister, the state’s finances were in surplus. He questioned how progress could be made with an empty treasury. Yadav pledged that the RJD and the Grand Alliance would assist in lifting Bihar out of poverty, despite acknowledging their lack of numerical strength. He urged the government to move forward, assuring them of their cooperation.
