Tejashwi Yadav Claims Nitish Kumar Reluctantly Sent to Rajya Sabha

Patna, March 24: Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was re-elected as the national president of the Janata Dal (United) on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Tejashwi Yadav, the leader of the opposition in the assembly and the national executive president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal, stated that Kumar has no desire to go to the Rajya Sabha; he is being forced into it.

In a conversation with the media, Yadav accused the Bharatiya Janata Party of attempting to eliminate the JD(U). “We have been saying this from the beginning,” he remarked. He noted that while Nitish Kumar is the Chief Minister and has been re-elected as the party’s national president, he does not have control. A few individuals within the JD(U) make all the decisions, using Kumar as a front. According to Yadav, these individuals have already reached an agreement with the BJP to dismantle the JD(U), and they are actively working towards that goal.

Yadav also commented on the ongoing conflict in West Asia, criticizing the government for not being alert. “If the government had been vigilant, the situation could have been managed,” he said. He highlighted that since the current government took office, ordinary citizens and the poor have faced significant hardships. He pointed to issues during the demonetization period, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the current gas shortage as examples of the government’s failures.

“The government’s role is to ensure that the public does not suffer. If there are shortcomings, it indicates that the government is giving up,” Yadav asserted. He emphasized that this is not the first time such issues have arisen in the country. Demonetization yielded no benefits, and during the pandemic, the government failed to provide adequate support. Many people returned to their states on foot, yet the government never acknowledged its mistakes. In essence, the government is unable to make any decisive actions.
