Tejashwi Claims Anti-BJP Sentiment in Bankipur, Confident in Rekha Guptas Victory

Patna, July 28: Ahead of the Bihar Bankipur Assembly by-election, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) has mobilized its full strength. Tejashwi Yadav, the party’s national executive president and leader of the opposition in the Bihar Assembly, asserted that there is a growing anti-BJP sentiment in Bankipur, with increasing public support for their candidate, Rekha Gupta.

In a media interaction, Tejashwi stated that party leaders and workers are actively campaigning in the constituency. He mentioned that they campaigned on Monday and have a roadshow planned for Tuesday. He claimed that the public is dissatisfied with the BJP and the state government, which will reflect in the voting results. Tejashwi accused the BJP of failing to fulfill its promises made during the elections.

He highlighted that commitments to create millions of jobs and provide financial assistance to women have remained mere announcements. According to him, there is a significant gap between the BJP’s words and actions, and the public is ready to respond. He expressed confidence that the people of Bankipur will teach the BJP a lesson and ensure victory for RJD’s Rekha Gupta.

Tejashwi also accused the BJP of vote theft, stating that youth, farmers, and women feel deceived. He criticized the state government for adopting a police-like attitude, asserting that it lacks a clear vision and development roadmap. He pointed out that the government has failed to address issues like inflation, unemployment, and the future of youth, leading to widespread discontent among the populace.

Tejashwi claimed that the BJP is aware of its precarious position, suggesting that the party’s top leadership fears defeat in the by-election. He further alleged that the BJP makes grand promises during elections but fails to take concrete steps to resolve the public’s core issues. Referring to student protests, he noted that the government had to make some decisions due to pressure from his party.

He reiterated the demand for a judicial inquiry into the AK-47 firing incident. Additionally, he mentioned that if his party forms the government in the future, they would consider providing pensions for students arrested during protests, similar to the provisions for participants of the JP movement.
