Teenager Murdered in Jamshedpur School Campus: Boyfriend Arrested

Jamshedpur, May 11: The police have solved the mystery surrounding the death of a minor girl found in the Sopodera Government Middle School campus. Authorities arrested her 16-year-old boyfriend, who has confessed to the crime.

The girl from Birsanagar had been missing since Friday. Investigations revealed that she had gone to the school campus with her boyfriend on Saturday night, where a heated argument about marriage ensued. The girl was pressuring him to marry her, while the accused refused, citing his young age. The dispute escalated, leading the boyfriend to murder her before fleeing the scene.

After the girl’s body was discovered on Sunday morning, panic and outrage spread throughout the area. Given the seriousness of the situation, police utilized a dog squad, CCTV footage, mobile location tracking, and call details to aid their investigation. This led to the arrest of the suspect in the Kumfuta area of Govindpur.

During questioning, the accused admitted to his crime and has since been sent to a remand home under judicial custody. Preliminary investigations and medical input have confirmed that there was no sexual assault involved in the case. The deceased had been living separately from her family since the COVID-19 pandemic, working in various households. It was during this time that she met the accused, and their relationship gradually developed into a romantic one. The police are now focusing on gathering more evidence related to the murder.
