Tata Motors is set to launch the facelifted version of its popular micro-SUV, the Tata Punch, on January 13 in India. The updated model will be offered at an expected price range of ₹5.5 lakh to ₹9.24 lakh (ex-showroom), reflecting significant improvements in design, features, and safety.
Powertrain Options
The facelifted Tata Punch will continue to use the existing 1.2-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine found in the current model. In addition, Tata Motors plans to introduce a new turbo-petrol engine, although detailed specifications are yet to be announced. Transmission choices will include a 5-speed manual gearbox and an automated manual transmission (AMT), providing buyers with flexible driving options.
Feature and Safety Enhancements
The facelift brings a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, alongside a 7-inch digital instrument cluster for the driver. Other new features include a 360-degree camera system, hill descent control, automatic climate control, cruise control, six-speaker audio setup, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, and a single-pane sunroof.
Safety has been a major focus, with six airbags now standard across all variants. Additional safety equipment includes ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, rear parking camera, and a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), enhancing occupant protection and driving confidence.
Exterior and Interior Updates
The Tata Punch facelift adopts a refreshed front fascia featuring slimmer LED daytime running lights, a redesigned grille, and updated bumpers that align with Tata’s latest design language. New LED headlights and 16-inch alloy wheels complement the modernised look. At the rear, connected LED taillights and a revised bumper add to the SUV’s contemporary styling.
Inside, the dashboard retains its familiar layout but includes notable updates such as a new two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo and dual-tone grey and blue seat upholstery. The air-conditioning controls have been upgraded to a touch interface with physical toggles for ease of use.
The Tata Punch facelift continues to position itself as an affordable, feature-rich entry-level SUV, aiming to attract buyers seeking modern amenities and enhanced safety without compromising on value.
